What does this cost? The initial consultation, either in person or by telemedicine, costs $180 for 1.5- 2 hours of face to face communication. Patients may file their own insurance claims with their company. At this time I am a Tricare provider, but I am out of network with other insurance companies. Forms can be provided for out of network benefits. Prior to a visit, Dr. Freeman reviews a detailed history (your words, not a form) where you can express your prior successes or failures, including frustrations with prior care. He also reviews a 5 day food and beverage diary. Be honest please! He thoroughly reviews all the labs that you provide. At that time he will order any necessary biomarker (blood) testing, usually billed to insurance through a Quest Diagnostics or Labcorp near you. This allows him to pinpoint your metabolic problems so they can be corrected. Many of these tests are never ordered in primary care because most physicians are not scientists. If uninsured or under-insured (high deductible health plan), he can order labs at his cost through Quest Diagnostics on a prepaid basis. The followup visit is an hour at $100. He dissects your lab results and teaches you about the concept of nutrient partitioning, providing a customized diet, supplement, and prescriptions as needed. He will help you improve your biomarkers to youthful levels through prescription and supplementation. He also provides the most effective exercise for you later in your weight loss journey. You are never alone. Bodies are built in the kitchen and finished in the gym and he gives you the instruction manual. Along the way he can try to answer all of your health questions. He won't be backing up with his hand on the doorknob. He sends you hundreds of articles about health, longevity, food choices, anti-aging strategies as well as lots of scientific links for those that are interested. You gain access to healthy recipes for your individual metabolic efficiency. His goal is to make you so healthy that you fire your doctor because he/she is no longer needed. Best of all, Dr. Freeman is always available by email to review your food diaries and answer questions. For those who may benefit from testosterone or estrogen, compounded pharmaceuticals are an option that is often cheaper than major pharma prescriptions, about $40 per month. Dr. Freeman will do everything he can to reduce your prescription costs, a subject he takes seriously. Further followup is dependent on many factors, but he encourages office(local) or cyber visits, depending on your location, every 2-3 months to assess your progress. He encourages you to purchase and use a body fat scale and a tape measure. They are the only two important numbers related to body composition. You will grow to love them! Secure telemedicine(computer visit) link for anyone in Virginia or visiting Virginia.
